Sade: The Live Review!
Last night, I had the pleasure of attending one of the most spellbinding concerts that I have ever had the opportunity to go to. Sade was beautiful and enchanting at the 02 Arena in Greenwich and I can honestly say that I have never been so captivated and transfixed by such a simple, yet utterly perfect performance like this before…
The “timeless beauty”, that is the effortlessly and incredibly talented Sade, made her triumphant return. After a decade hiatus from touring, the famous recluse is back with a world tour that is truly in a league of its own.
The atmosphere in the arena was simply magical. The packed stadium succumbed to the sultry voice and musical instruments – which worked together in perfect harmony. Sade demanded our full attention with such gentle persuasion and ease, it almost felt like an intimate, private show.
The Grammy-winning star is the biggest selling female solo artist in British history, having sold 110 million albums worldwide, but you would have never known because she comes across so humble, continually thanking the audience throughout the show and providing a gracious subtle commentary.
The set was made up of her 1980s classic hits, such as ‘Smooth Operator’, ‘Your Love Is King’, ‘The Sweetest Taboo’ and ‘Paradise’, as well as ‘90s favourites ‘Cherish The Day’ and ‘No Ordinary Love’. She also performed ‘Kiss Of Life’, which sent the diehard Sade fans into a frenzy. Sade also performed a couple of her latest tracks, ‘By Your Side’ and ‘Soldier Of Love’, proving that she has moved with the times successfully.
The stage design was as mystical as the elusive diva herself, with magnificent backdrops filled with colour and ambiance. Sade‘s costumes were sophisticated. She still oozes class and sultry sex appeal today.
If you love music and want to see a living legend perform with pure class and talent, then you have to see Sade in concert at some point in your life. Watching her perform her musical catalogue is pure genuine undiluted art in motion.
