Snoop Dogg Says Hip-Hop Is Ready For Openly Gay Rapper
Snoop Dogg has recently spoken out to say that the world of hip-hop is ready to accept a gay rapper. Ever since Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean openly admitted that he has been in love with a man, the level of acceptance in the hip-hop world has been a talking point…
In a recent interview with the Salt Lake Tribune, Snoop said: "People are learning how to live and get along more and accept people for who they are and not bash them or hurt them because they’re different. When I was growing up, you could never do that and announce that," said Snoop of Ocean's letter.
The rapper then continued, "there would be so much scrutiny and hate and negativity, and no one would step (forward) to support you because that’s what we were brainwashed and trained to know."
But now the 40-year-old honestly believes that the world of hip-hop is ready to accept a gay rapper and he isn't the only one. Other stars of the hip-hop world such as Busta Rhymes, Lil Scrappy and 50 Cent support Snoop's statement, agreeing that Frank Ocean has paved the way for other artists to follow suit.
