Swizz Beats In Hot Water?
Swizz Beatz has landed himself in very hot water with the FBI over the file sharing website, Megaupload - where he is listed as the CEO. US officials have launched a $175 million piracy claim against the site, and executives of the company were arrested shortly afterwards. The criminal copyright case was described by the US government as the largest in American history...
Swizz is said to be "bracing himself" for an FBI interview where he will be grilled about his involvement on the site. Megaupload’s lawyer said the producer was "never involved in a meaningful way" and was simply "in conversations to be named CEO."
The New York Post claims Beatz was Megaupload's CEO for nearly a year. A source told the paper: "This appears to be a situation where Swizz agreed to be the CEO...without first doing his due diligence about the company."
If found guilty, his supposed fellow executives could face up to 50 years in jail. Beatz is now allegedly searching for a kick-ass criminal defence lawyer.
Good thinking, Swizzy.
