Tim Westwood Shares Unheard Freestyle Ft. Method Man & Redman
Listen to the Unheard Freestyle here!
It’s 1999 and two legendary New York rappers are over in the UK ahead of the release of their debut collaborative project. Of course they head over to Tim Westwood’s radio show and what happens next is epic.
Those two rappers were Method Man and Redman and that project was their classic album ‘Blackout!’. Westwood was no stranger to having the biggest and best rappers on his show and they often performed a freestyle whilst there. After he released an unseen Kanye West freestyle recently, Westwood has now shared this brand new one and it’s not to be missed.
With raps about Nintendo 64’s over instrumentals ranging from Pharoahe Monch’s ‘Simon Says’ to Dr Dre’s ‘Still D.R.E’, this unearthed gem really gives you a feel of the time, which was certainly a golden age for rap music. Demonstrating the sick rap flows that inspired so many, we thoroughly enjoyed this throwback to a bygone era and are about to spend the rest of the day revisiting some classic Wu.
