Tlc To Be Awarded ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music’ At 2012 Mobo Awards
The two surviving members of 90’s girlband TLC T-Boz and Chilli are to be presented with a special award for their ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ at the 2012 MOBO awards ceremony, which takes place in Liverpool this weekend…
The Independent reports that the pair are also set to introduce Stooshe’s performance of their classic single ‘Waterfalls’. The girls will be at the event in addition to a host of celebrities, including JLS, Emeli Sande and soul legend Dionne Warwick who will pick up a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award to celebrate her fifty years in music.
TLC were one of the bestselling girl-groups of all time prior to the tragic death of band-member Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, who was killed in a car-accident in 2002.
The 17th annual MOBO awards will take place at Liverpool’s ECHO Arena, and will see BAFTA award winning ‘Kidulthood’ star Adam Deacon joined by TV personality Miquita Oliver hosting. The night is set to be an epic one; according to Music-News it will showcase the cream of British talent, with performances from Labrinth, Wiley and Misha B as well as a performance from International r&b star Trey Songz.
