Tweets Of The Week
We are all aware that the music artists of today use Twitter to vent their frustrations, indirect their peers and essentially provide the material for us journalists to write about. So it is only right that we look at some of the best celebrity tweets from this past week - from Joe Budden complaining about strippers, to Rihanna being compared to Princess Diana and Ne-Yo flipping out at his ‘haters’…
Joe Budden (@JoeBudden) - "Always that 1 ugly stripper that’s making eye contact w you no matter which way you’re looking. Lol" (Feb 13)
The Slaughterhouse emcee has clearly found himself in a predicament as he is being eye-balled by an unfortunate-looking female dancer in his local strip club. Mo money, mo problems.
Ne-Yo (@NeYoCompound) - "Shout out to those showing love. Everybody has an off day....all good. F**k any and all haters. Talk it while I live it b**hes!!!" (Feb 18)
Ne-Yo was highly criticized for his NBA All-Star weekend performance as his vocals were surprisingly below par. The Grammy award winning artist responded to his 'haters' after seemingly feeling hurt by the comments. Nevertheless, after reflecting back on his prior statement, he later apologised, stating: 'everyone's entitled to their own opinion'.
Adele (@OfficialAdele) - "Chris Brown and I were complimenting each other in that photo actually!" (Feb 13)
The Grammy award-winning singer cleared up recent rumours after a picture was taken of her ‘telling off’ Chris Brown. The 'Skyfall' singer shared with her 11 million followers that she wasn't criticizing Breezy for failing to give Frank Ocean a standing ovation. Adele doesn't seem the confrontational type, does she?
Skepta (@Skepta) - "A wise Nigerian man called Skepta once said... "Kai.. Omo this English weather dey shatter my swagger" (Feb 18)
Skepta tweeted some food for thought this week, referring back to a line from ‘a wise Nigerian man’ (Do you know another person called Skepta? Me neither). The North London rapper touched on the ever-changing British weather, which is clearly limiting his choice of clothes. Don't worry Skeppy, summer is coming soon.
Lil Wayne (@LilTunechi) - “So I'm @ da Heat game right, rootin 4 da Lakers kuz dats my team & would u believe they got police 2 make me leave?! Wow! F#€k da Heat” (Feb 13)
Lil Wayne was not impressed when he was kicked out of the Miami Heat game due to openly supporting the other team. It seems a little over the top from the Miami Heat staff but it does prove once again that regardless of your celebrity status, nobody is untouchable.
Rihanna (@Rihanna) - And just like that these b***hes is my sons #RihannaForRiverIsland #LONDONfashionweek (Feb 17)
When your face is pic-stitched to Princess Diana's on the cover of The Sunday Times.... I mean...… http://instagr.am/p/V1ALUOBMxj/ (Feb 17)
It has been a pretty hectic week for Rihanna, and of course she kept the Twitter-sphere up to date. The 'Stay' singer debuted her clothing line with high street retailer River Island during London Fashion Week. She also graced the cover of The Sunday Times magazine. The flattering feature compared the singer to the late Princess Diana, a story that even Rihanna was proud of.
Ed Sheeran (@EdSheeran) - "Oh. And a man proposed to his girlfriend today at the gig. That's awesome. Hope you two have an amazing life together! X (Feb 15)
Now we all know that Ed Sheeran is a highly influential artist, but his music is clearly life-changing. As Ed revealed, a man proposed to his girlfriend during the singers concert, and Sheeran wished the newly engaged couple the very best in the future.
Azealia Banks (@AzealiaBanks) - "@Diplo you're a real f**king snake. you owe M.I.A everything you have." (Feb 16)
Azealia Banks just can't stay out of trouble. Banks has already been arguing with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton this week and now the fiery rapper has turned her attention to top producer Diplo. Azealia was furious at Diplo as she originally recorded over the 'Harlem Shake' track to then find out via e-mail that it was going to be used for Juicy J instead... Awkward.
Diddy (@iamdiddy) - “Ed sheeran is some other s**t! And y’all know I don't co-sign cats. But this kid makes me cry. Jojo otis reding. No hype! #revolt” (Feb 15)
Diddy shared one of the most refreshing tweets of the week as he unveiled his admiration for London's very own Ed Sheeran. The hip-hop mogul tweeted his support for the singer, claiming that his music even brings him to tears! That must be one of the biggest compliments Ed has received.
Zane Lowe (@Zanelowe) - KANYE WEST RETURNS TO THE EUROPEAN STAGE W. HIS SURROUND VISION SHOW AT LONDON'S HAMMERSMITH APOLLO & PARIS' LE ZENITH SUN 24 AND MON 25 FEB (Feb 13)
This was, without fail, the announcement of the week. The BBC Radio 1 DJ revealed that Yeezy would be stopping off in London for his surround vision show for one night only. Due to the overwhelming demand another date got added, but that was evident - It is Kanye West after all.
