Verbal Intercourse With Shabazz: Kilo Kish
It was her quirky presence and playful vocals laced on The Jet Age Of Tomorrow's ‘Want You Still’ that make me do a double-take. Unintentionally bringing an innovative style to the music realm, Kilo Kish's natural talent for operating a smooth jazzy trance production is a winning celebration of artistic freedom…
May I add that the recent graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology also has pure adorableness up for sale? Kish's sunny glow and free-spirited hair compliments her nonchalant flow. The Florida suburban girl is now based in New York City and is influenced by Atlanta rapper Kilo Ali and his rattled bass southern raps. The contradiction makes the outcome more blissful, adding a meaning to her chill-wave sound.
Kilo is now a recent graduate at The Art Institute and can finally go full throttle, pushing her recent debut EP, ‘Homeschool’. The electronic and jazzy lush production provided by Odd Future’s Matt Martians and Hal Williams couldn't have fitted better as a compilation of unorthodox dainty rhymes. This listen is certainly an example to the testimony that girls just want to have fun -- oh, and talk about life, boys and love in a care-free manner.
For my next offering of Verbal Intercourse, I give Kish a visit for a good ol' conversation on her stoop. As we go through the basics, we also touch on her ‘valley girl flow’ being compared to recent internet sensation Kitty Pryde and much more…
