Wiley Replaces Frank Ocean At V Festival
Following the announcement that Frank Ocean had pulled all of his European dates over the summer, organisers of the 2012 V Festival have added grime legend Wiley to the bill as his replacement. According to NME, Wiley – who is currently enjoying his second week at No.1 with his infectious single ‘Heatwave’ – will be performing alongside Skepta and JME at the festival this weekend...
Using Twitter to confirm the news, V Festival tweeted: “Replacing Frank Ocean on the Arena Stage will be the Godfather of Grime Wiley. Could this heatwave get any hotter?"
The rapper then took to his own twitter page to confirm the news to his legion of loyal followers, writing: "Catch me and my brothers JME & Skepta at V Festival."
The revelation comes following the Odd Future singer’s controversial decision to cancel all of his European dates, offering fans no real explanation for the decision, except releasing the following statement: “Let me start by saying I feel like an a*****e right now, but a tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next months… Sorry as f**k, I'll be back if you'll have me."
