Britney Spears 'Quit The X Factor USA Over Money'
Britney Spears is reported to have quit The X Factor USA because she was refused a £1.8m pay rise.
The pop star last week revealed that she would not be returning as a judge on the reality TV show, and it was claimed that she was going to focus on her music for 2013.
But now celeb blogger Perez Hilton claims that Britters had asked for a cool $3m to be added to her $15m pay packet - which would have taken her total pay to £11m.
And Hilton claims that bosses at Fox decided she wasn't worth it.
"After much deliberation, they just felt that Britney wasn't worth that much because she wasn't bringing enough to the table," a source said.
"Her performance as a judge was scrutinised, and she didn't really add anything to the show. They felt she didn't warrant a $3 million pay hike."
Since news of Britney's departure broke, it has also been reported that show boss Simon Cowell was planning to fire her anyway.
