One Direction Set For X Factor USA Guest Slot

One Directionare set to make a guest appearance on The X Factor USA, Simon Cowell has revealed.

Speaking to Hitfix, the reality TV mogul said the fivesome were not going to be able to put in as many performances as they did in the last run - but would be showing up once.

"They're coming in to perform I think on the third or fourth live show," he explained. "But that's the only role they'll play."

SiCo insisted that he wasn't exploiting 1D fans by having the boy band appear on the show.

"They're all One Direction fans and I don't like the idea of databasing and all that kind of stuff, because I like people to make their own mind up.

"I communicate with them through Twitter and stuff like that. They know what we're doing, but it's always their choice."
