Thor: The Dark World Gets World Premiere In London

Stars brave the rain to mark Norse superhero's big-screen return...

The world premiere forThor: The Dark Worldtook place in London's Leicester Square last night, with stars of the movie and a host of celebs braving the British weather.
The brollies were out in force asChris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Christopher Eccleston mingled with fans on the red carpet in the world famous square.
And Nat admitted that she had enjoyed a scene where she gets to slap Hemsworth's Norse superhero.

She told E! News: "I found it very satisfying. I think it's on behalf of all my girlfriends who had guys that didn't call them back or disappeared or just fell off the face of the earth."
But she admitted that she needed a step-up to reach his face: "There were sort of like secret boxes of ramps or something that they would sneak in there so I could be closer to him, otherwise there would be no way I could hit his face if I tried. I'd be like jumping and trying to reach his cheek."

And Chris admitted that he saw the funny side of the experience.
"It actually became kinda hilarious because she had to do it over and over again as you do, and a couple of times she'd sort of connect here or here or miss completely and we weren't meant to laugh but it ended up being high school.
"When you're not meant to laugh, you have to... It's just ridiculous, over and over being slapped by the same person."
The hopefuls on this year's The X Factor were among the other guests at the event, along with boy band McFly and many of the movie's supporting cast and Marvel Studios' creative dynamo Joss Whedon.
