T.I. Free After Stint In Halfway House

Tip has been released, with his wife stating she is "excited" he's out...

T.I. is now a free man once again after being released [uuid=a3bcfe93-2d77-472f-a7c3-48a75f64e54d]from a halfway house[/uuid] in Atlanta yesterday.
The Dead And Gone rapper's lawyer confirmed to our US Team that Tip has completed[uuid=1ce5755a-129f-4800-ba31-ccd88647a23d] an 11-month sentence[/uuid] stemming from his 2010 drug possession.
In a statement obtained by MTV News, his wife Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle said: "I'm excited our family is back together. Tip definitely completes us."
T.I.'s manager and Grand Hustle partner Jason Geter also stated to The Associated Press: "He's out, he's good."
According to the AP, T.I. will now have to serve one year of federal probation, but barring any infractions, there will be no more prison time.

Tip's legal drama began with his 2007 arrest and eventual sentence on felony weapons charges, where the Live Your Life hitmaker was sentenced to one year and one day in prison in 2009.
He completed nine months of his bid but was arrested again in October 2010 while driving in Los Angeles.
The L.A. County district attorney's office declined to file drug charges against T.I. after finding narcotics in his vehicle, but the multiplatinum spitter violated his federal probation and was sentenced to serve 11 months in prison in October 2010.
It has been speculated that T.I. would make an appearance at the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which are being taped in Atlanta on Saturday. When T.I. was arrested in 2007, it was just hours before that year's BET ceremony.

T.I.'s pal DJ Drama couldn't confirm whether the King of the South would attend the festivities, but he did express his excitement about Tip's return to the studio.

He said: "Me and Tip have been friends, working together for almost a decade now, so we know what we gotta do. It's really time to get to work and get to the music."

T.I.'s record company, Atlantic Records, had no comment concerning the rapper's release.
