T.I Talks Prison

The Grammy Award winning rapper exclusively tells MTV about his forthcoming sentence…

T.I, real name Clifford Harris, has up to two months to report to prison to begin a one year and one day jail term after pleading guilty to three charges of possessing illegal weapons.
The ‘Dead And Gone’ MC told MTV US News' Sway that he wants to spend all of his time leading up to his incarceration with his family "The kids, the old lady, my cousins, my brother, just with my family. Maybe something for Mother's Day… I might be able to make one more birthday party."
He initially pleaded not guilty and faced up to 10 years in prison for each of the charges, however, Tip's lawyers worked out a deal where the rapper had to complete 1,500 hours of community service, in addition to paying a $100,000 fine and completing 365 days of home confinement.
As father of six, the Paper Trail MC doesn’t expect his term to be easy for his family "Of course, the initial emotion will be one of somber grief. But by the time they get over it, I'll be getting home. Compared to how bad it could have been, I think I made out all right."
Initial reporting by Jayson Rodriguez.
