Tinie Tempah – born Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu – has had more Number One singles (seven) than 'any' other UK artist over the past decade.He's a platinum-selling phenomenon.'Youth', his third studio album (released April 14) launched itself into the Top Ten in the UK album charts, just like his previous two records. Oh, and he’s a men’s fashion icon, too.'Not too shabby, Tinie. Not too shabby at all.'
Considering those accolades, it’s safe to assume that Tinie Tempah knows a thing or two about ‘making it’ in the music industry. So who betterto ask than Tinie about how to make it as an artist? What’s the big secret?
“Hard work is very, very important,” Tinie told MTV.
“Confidence comes from life experiences and going out and putting yourself in certain situations. That’s how you learn a bit more about yourself. That’s how you gain the confidence to be who you want to be. If you don’t go out and try, you’re never, ever gonna know."
“There’s evolution in everything. Don’t be scared to be a part of that evolution. Don’t just limit yourself to a box, or a label, that’s not been created by you. You have the opportunity to redefine things and change things. That is a power that I believe every human being has, but it’s just about listening to that voice and being able to unlock that side of you.
“Be a leader. The world needs more of that.”
