SINGLES

Tinie Tempah Ft. Tinashe – ‘Text From Your Ex’

Tinie’s done an Ed Sheeran. Returning with not one – but two – new singles, the first is a banger with the in-demand American singer, Tinashe, and the second…

Tinie Tempah Ft. Nea – ‘Chasing Flies’

…is ‘Chasing Flies’, featuring newcomer Nea. Tinie Tempah’s third studio album, 'YOUTH', is coming out next week. We can’t wait to hear it!

Arcade Fire & Mavis Staples – ‘I Give You Power’

This is how you make a comeback. Four years after 'Reflektor', Arcade Fire return with a timely new single - the best of the week -inspired by the nightmare that America is about to jump into.

“It’s the eve of the inauguration and I think it’s easy to get sucked into sitting on the couch and checking your news feed and watching things on CNN, and we’re just musicians and the only thing we have to offer is our music,” frontman Win Butler said.

“I talked to Mavis last night and she said, ‘Now more than ever we just need to hold onto each other.’ For us it’s a feeling of solidarity—to not feel powerless and focus on what we can do as individuals and try to do our part.”

Gorillaz Ft. Benjamin Clementine – ‘Hallelujah Money’

Gorrillaz, making their long-awaited return after six years out, come back with a soundabsolutely nobody was expecting. ‘Hallelujah Money’ is a bizarre, gloomy first cut from the group’s forthcoming – and still untitled – new album, featuring Mercury Prize winner Benjamin Clementine (and a cameo from Spongebob Squarepants). It’s dividing opinion already. Let’s see what you think.

J. Cole – ‘High For Hours’

Working his way from slave owners, "They came here seeking freedom and they end up owning slaves”, to the present day and his meeting with America’s outgoing President, J Cole clearly isn’t spending much time resting after releasing his fourth album '4 Your Eyez Only', just last month.

Big Sean – ‘Halfway Off The Balcony’

The third song released from Big Sean’s forthcoming album, 'I Decided', ‘Halfway Off The Balcony’ finds the rapper in a contemplative mood. The new album is out February 3, and with Eminem set to feature on one track and Kanye Westbehind the dials (amongst others), it could be a special one.

ALBUMS

Loyle Carner - 'Yesterday's Gone'

Loyle Carner, an emotive, introspective rapper from South London who’s also a big fan of puns (he runs a cooking school called Chili Con Carner), has released his debut album.'Yesterday’s Gone' features several tracks that, if you’ve been following him so far(and we certainly hope you have), will be familiar. ‘Stars & Shards’, ‘Ain’t Nothing Changed’, ‘NO CD’ and more are all on there. In a way, it’s almost like a greatest hits record. A host of new tracks are, obviously, in there too, with ‘Mean It In The Morning’ and 'No Worries' being early favourites of ours.

Please, if you hit the play button on anything today, make it this.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - 'Modern Ruin'

Moving back into the razor sharp, gnashing music that he made his name in back in the 00s following a stint in the band Pure Love, Watford’s Frank Carter is back with a new Rattlesnakesalbum. It’s brutal (in a good way). Stream below.
