A Brit, MOBO and Ivor Novello award winner, Tinie Tempah is one of the UK’s most successful ever rappers. He’s amassed seven UK Number 1 singles to date and is regularly named as one of Britain’s most stylish men, too. (When we met him, he was wearing a multi-coloured dinosaur festive cardigan, which obviously sounds dreadful on paper, but Tinie actually looked pretty good in it.)

Tinie released 'Junkfood' last December, a mixtape featuring JME,Stormzy and more, which saw Tinie tap back into his underground roots. Tinie Tempah – real name Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu – is now gearing up for the release of his third album, 'Youth', which is out December 16.

“I think it’s my best album! Look out for my next single with Tinashe,” Tinie told us. “Basically, I’ve made a banger. It’s really crazy. It’s called ‘Text From Your Ex’. Look out for that.”

We met up with Tinie at Disturbing London – Tinie’s North London creative hub - to talk about how you can follow in his footsteps “don’t be scared to limit yourselves”, 'Youth' “I want to give people what they expect from me as an artist” and the new LifeSkills initiative he’s working on.

Working alongside Barclays, the LifeSkills initiative took place for its second year in 2016, and offered students the chance to apply for “the work experience of a lifetime.”

The Work Experience Of a Lifetime programme offered 18-24 year olds the chance to land a work placement at some of the best sports and entertainment brands in the UK.The likes of the o2, Shazam, Football Manager, Manchester City, British Athletics are just some of the companies who signed up.

“We want to shed light on job opportunities that young people don’t readily have access to,” Tinie said. “If you don’t go out and try, you’re never ever going to know.”

'You can still apply for work experience opportunities by searching 'Barclays LifeSkills dream job' until Sunday 4th December.'
