Tom Cruise has been voted the most irritating movie star in the world.
In an Empire Magazine poll of 10,000 readers he topped the list ahead of Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts and Adam Sandler. But it wasn't all bad news for the infamous Scientologist " he was also named the biggest movie star of all time, beating off competition from Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford and Marilyn Monroe.
Kevin Spacey emerged as the nation's favourite actor and Kate Winslet as the most popular actress. Steven Spielberg was voted best director " but Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy got the nod for the best film franchise.
