Tom Cruise 'Blindsided' By Divorce?
US sources have suggested Tom Cruise was 'blindsided' by Katie Holmes' decision to file for divorce.
The Hollywood couple [uuid=cf2f03c8-94c8-4d9a-8428-d3fafe236b39]announced the end of their five-year marriage[/uuid] yesterday, with both Tom and Katie's reps releasing a statement.
But according to People magazine, which broke the story, it may have come as a shock to Cruise who is currently filming new movie Oblivion in Iceland.
Julie Dam, assistant managing editor at the publication, said on CBS This Morning: Saturday: "It's one of the biggest marriages in Hollywood breaking up in the middle of summer when, just a couple weeks ago, Tom Cruise was talking about how wonderful his marriage was and his life was."
According to CBS News, Dam went on: "Katie was the one who filed for divorce, in New York and, from how it went down, it certainly seems that Tom was blindsided."
Following news of the split, US gossip site TMZ reported that Tom-Kat had a pre-nup in place but claimed that Holmes would be hoping to gain sole custody of their daughter Suri.
