Trafalgar Square Closed For Tom Cruise Movie
All You Need Is Kill location shoot takes place in central London...
London's most famous square was closed to the public for hours at the weekend for the filming of a new Tom Cruise movie.
Trafalgar Square was shut off for more than three hours on Sunday morning on one of the busiest weekends of the year as a major scene was shot for All You Need Is Kill.
Parts of Pall Mall, Whitehall, Northumberland Avenue, The Strand and Charing Cross Road were also blocked off as the filming took place.
A Royal Air Force Puma helicopter landed in front of the National Gallery and Cruise was filmed emerging in military uniform. A host of armoured vehicles were also used on the shoot.
Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity), the film is adapted from a sci-fi novel about a soldier who repeatedly fights the same alien enemy. It also stars Emily Blunt.
Tom is reported to have used a fruity nickname when checking into UK hotels.
