Cheryl Cole Wants Diving Lessons From Tom Daley
Chezza reaches out to the athlete on Twitter as his abuser is bailed...
The Girls Aloud star's message, adding: "@cherylcole Of course!!! But first you need to follow me ;)"
Tom has previously admitted that he has a huge crush on Cheryl, telling Heat magazine in June: "I've fancied her since The X Factor. She is just so sexy and my type...
"[Our date] would definitely be in Plymouth and I would take her for a hot-air balloon ride that ended with a BBQ on the beach in the sunset. It's not very glamorous, but I think she might like a change."
In other related news, the 17-year old who was arrested in connection with abusive messages sent to Daley has been released on bail and given a warning over his tweets.
As we previously reported, Tom was subjected to a series of taunts after missing out on a medal in the men's synchronised diving final, with one of the posts even referencing Daley's dead father.
According to Sky News, the teenager responsible for the messages has been bailed and will return at a later date while authorities investigate the issue. Dorset Police also issued him with a formal harassment warning.
BBC News has since reported that Daley hopes the incident on Twitter will not be "a big issue" as he prepares for his next event on 10th August.
Sir Clive Woodward, who is the Deputy Chef de Mission for Team GB, stated: "Tom's aware of it, he's taken it all in his stride, doesn't want to make a big issue.
"I'm delighted the police have stepped in and taken it out of everyone's hands and they've acted accordingly. Social media is here to stay... you've got to understand [there's] maybe the odd downside."
He added: "It's got to be put in perspective - 400 million tweets a day, you're going to get one or two strange ones coming through. I'm just glad the police have reacted the way they reacted."
