Spider-Man Star Tom Holland Will Play Nathan Drake In Uncharted Movie

It’s shaping up to be a big year for Spider-Man star Tom Holland, with the youngest member of the Avengers in line to star in a new adaptation of videogame mega-franchise, Uncharted. 

Sony have snapped up Hollywood’s hottest new star for the upcoming action flick, with Holland confirmed to be playing a young version of wise-cracking adventurer, Nathan Drake.

The studio has been trying to get this one off the ground for a while now, with Mark Wahlberg having bailed out of the production late last year. Now it seems like the film will be taking a different direction, with a prequel story set to tell the tale of the young Drake’s first link-up with professional thief (and series regular), Sullivan.

This new story is based on a flashback scene from the third game in the franchise, and will follow Drake’s journey from part-time thief to fully-fledged treasure hunter. And if the games are anything to go by, there should be some pretty spectacular action sequences along the way…

Stranger Things director Shawn Levy is in place behind the camera, although no official release date has been confirmed as yet. In the meantime, Holland’s first Spidey movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, opens in the UK on 5 July 2017.
