Rise Of The Tomb Raider Gets First Ever PS4 Release Date *And* Virtual Reality
Lara Croft in VR? Yaaaaas!
If you’ve got a PS4 but loved Tomb Raider and want to give its sequel a try, you don’t need to buy a PC or Xbox One it’s coming to PS4 soon AND it’s bringing VR with it.
The game’s creator Square Enix has said that the action title will no longer be an break Xbox One and PC exclusive and reach PS4 on 11 October. And the treats don’t stop there. This will be a 20th Year Celebration Edition of the game. That means on top of the game itself you’ll get all Season Pass content, plus an art book for those that preorder the game.
While that all sounds good it’s the VR content that’s really exciting. One part of the extra content, called Blood Ties, will support the PS VR meaning a fully immersive gaming experience something not available on Xbox One or PC.
MTV's Best Of E3 Awards 2016!
That said, owners of the game on those platforms will get all the content for free from 11 October, just minus VR support. The 20th Year Celebration Edition will also come with a new Extreme Survivor difficulty, for those that really like throwing their controllers into the wall out of frustration. Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4 is already available for preorder in the US priced at $60 with UK prices to come.
