Tomb Raider Video: Lara Croft's Origin Story
Video edit features interviews with dev team over videogame reboot...
More details about the forthcomingTomb Raiderprequel game have been revealed in a video featuring interviews with the development team and gameplay footage.
Episode two of a video series entitled Origins Of A Story, the edit gives a behind the scenes look at the development of the new game.
It talks to creative director Noah Hughes, lead writer Rhianna Pratchett and narrative designer John Stafford - who discuss how and why they approached videogame icon Lara Croft's origin story.
Noah said: "We didn't start with the idea of doing an origin story actually. We started with the idea of doing something fresh."
And writer Pratchett was shown speaking about some of the more violent elements of Lara's backstory.
"It's not comfortable to watch and it shouldn't be," she said. "And it is about picking yourself up despite the fact that you're scared. You can't have bravery without fear."
Developer Crystal Dynamics has previously hinted that the new Tomb Raider game will not be a standalone title - and that sequels are already in the pipeline.
The new game is scheduled for released in March next year.
