The first trailer has dropped for Transformers: The Last Knight, and it looks as though Michael Bay’s latest explode-a-thon might just be the most OTT thing he’s ever made. Which is saying something…

The new film sees Earth on the brink of all-out war, as Megatron’s Decepticons wage war on Mark Wahlberg and the rest of mankind. Or as Anthony Hopkins puts it in his VERY SERIOUS voiceover, “two species at war… one flesh, one metal”. Give that man an Oscar, immediately.

Meanwhile, Optimus Prime is busy looking for a missing artifact to revive the ruined planet of Cybertron, while there’s also something about the Nazis in there for good measure...

Directed by Bay and co-starring Laura Haddock, Stanley Tucci and John Turturro, Transformers: The Last Knight will open in the UK on 23 June 2017.
