A Sewage Leak Contaminated Over 200 Suitcases at Nashville Airport

Ah, sh*t...

A sewage leak at Nashville International airport may have contaminated more than 200 suitcases checked in by Southwest airline passengers.

Oh. God. We imagine all those affected are kicking up a right stink. In fact, they’re probably feeling pretty poo right now.

Sorry.

The sh*tty situation (no really, we’ll stop now) was actually due to a single blocked toilet, which began overflowing at about 5am on Wednesday.

Ummmm, pretty sure the individual who used that loo at 4.58am on Weds is feeling very guilty right now. Just saying.

The sewage water leaked into a Southwest Airlines baggage conveyer belt directly below, soiling (ew) “a good number of bags”, airport spokesman Tom Jurkovichtold The Tennessean.

It’s not clear how much actual sewage (read: human waste) was actually in the water, but Southwest airline said in a statement that all potentially affected bags are being sanitized, with replacements being offered to some passengers.

Suddenly those people who wrap their bags up in shizloads of cling film don’t look so silly, eh?
