How to Make Sure Your Bag Arrives First at the Baggage Carousel
Try this tip next time you fly...
Watching a baggage carousel go around and around with no sign of your suitcase is up there with watching paint dry and accidentally reading a spoiler for your fave TV show on the mundane and annoying scales of life. So it might be worth trying this baggage hack next time you’re jetting off somewhere.
It’s really quite simple - when you’re checking in, ask the airline staff member at bag drop to whack a ‘fragile’ sticker on your bag.
Apparently, bags with said stickers are usually loaded later so that they’re not crushed by the rest of the plane’s luggage - and bags loaded last, are unloaded first, what with them being close to the door and all that.
Voila - you may have just saved yourself a whole load of time, simply by reading this article. Unless of course everyone on your next flight has read it too, in which case the airport crew are going to be baffled by the sudden influx of ‘fragile’ bags.
‘Are they all going to some kind of china plate convention?’ one will ask another. His colleague will shrug. Neither will ever know the truth.
Alternatively, you could just check in at the very last minute to ensure your bag is the final one loaded, but that’s a bit of a risky game, isn’t it.
