Is This the World’s Most Beautiful Public Loo?
Doing your bizniss in luxury...
Let’s face it, nobody enjoys using a public toilet… until now, that is - because Norway have opened what is being billed as the world’s most beautiful public loo. THIS IS BIG NEWS.
Set on the top of a fjord on the Western coast, the wave-shaped Ureddplassen (yes, the toilet has a name) features a viewing terraced overlooking the Norwegian Sea, backed by snow-capped mountains.
It’s not just a lav, though - the structure is also a memorial to 42 men, who died in 1943 when their Royal Norwegian Navy submarine hit a German mine.
“Ureddplassen is a place for a short break, a nice rest and a picnic, or for long nights with midnight sun or northern lights,” explained Nasjonale turistveger, says the tourist board for Norwegian Scenic Route Helgelandskysten, on which the toilet can be found.
Don’t worry about having to queue either - because there’s some handy benches just outside, made of Norwegian Rose marble… the same material used to build New York’s United Nations building, no less.
Then again, it did cost £1.4 million to renovate, so you’d expect it to be the sh*t. Pun intended.
