‘Snoozeliner’ - Say Hello To The Night Bus With Beds
The muggle version of the Knight Bus has arrived...
Forget accidentally falling asleep on the night bus and waking up in the middle of nowhere, with bleary eyes and a disgruntled driver poking you awake, because there’s a new mode of late-night transport coming our way, and it’s literally designed for snoozing.
Yep, Simba - the high tech sleep brand - have announced the SNOOZELINER - shuttle buses that are essentially moving hotels, to get you home even while you’re pushing out some serious zzzzzzz’s.
The double-decker coaches, which will eventually operate on 8 routes across London, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham from Autumn 2018, feature 14 futuristic pods, fitted with a luxury Simba hybrid mattress, duvet, pillow, silk eye mask and noise cancelling headphones.
There’s also valuables storage (important), a USB charger (important), a WC (VERY important), and a choice of soothing scent infusions recognized by aromatherapists for their sleep-inducing or hangover-busting properties (less important) (but very fancy).
You won’t have to worry about missing your stop either, because a nifty little system allows passengers to type in their destination, and have stewards wake them up before arrival.
So essentially it’s the muggle version of the Knight Bus, yes?
‘New research shows we doze off on public transport 27 times a year and are at our most sleep deprived in December’, says James Cox, Simba CEO.
‘For workers and party-goers alike – the prospect of walking straight into your bed as soon as you’ve finished is the dream, but for many it can involve a lengthy commute home when you’re shattered or a bit worse for wear.
‘We’re always looking at how we can use our technology to redefine an existing experience. The Simba Snoozeliner service is all about helping people top up some valuable lost sleep time in a design that’s every bit as comfortable as their bed at home.’
Oh James, you’re a man after our own hearts.
