Universal Orlando Resort's New King Kong Ride Looks Bonkers
In an amazing-this-is-gonna-be-badass-kinda way...
Universal Orlando has form when it comes to scaring/amazing the bejeesus out of us.
No sooner have we recovered from the enjoyable insanity of their Halloween Horror Nights, then they've unveiled their next bonkers attraction - Skull Island: Reign of Kong.
Fans of King Kong will know that the titular beastie is rather mahoosive, so it's no surprise that the news they've teased us with is equally as enormous.
They've just revealed our first sneak peek at the experience's vehicles, which are going to be a whopping 40ft long, and weigh 17 tonnes. Not only that, but the vechile will be completely trackless - a sophisticated system will help independently steer the truck off-road and through unpredictable terrain, with 45-inch wheels that can be steered individually, allowing for sharp turns and complicated manoeuvres. Which will likely come in handy when you meet the man/monkey of the hour himself.
Suffice to say, it sounds as groundbreaking and crazy as we've come to expect from one of the world's greatest theme parks.
Summer 2016 can't come soon enough. Bring. It. On.
