Get ready to take a big ol’ bite out of the Big Apple - because you can now fly from London to actual New York Citaaaay for just £99 with Wow air.

For some perspective, here are three other things now more expensive than flight to NYC.

A bucket of popcorn at the cinema (probably - that stuff is literally extortion. Tasty, tasty extortion).

The Icelandic airline is celebrating its new service to NYC’s JFK (that’s a lot of letters isn’t it) airport by offering the cheap seats at rock bottom prices.

As they so succinctly put it in a statement: "To celebrate our new service to the Big Apple's JFK International Airport, we are offering flights from London to New York for less than the cost of taxes - essentially paying for our guests to fly."

There’s a slight catch though, because the new route isn’t direct, but involves a stopover in Reykjavik. Not that that’s a bad thing if you fancy cramming two holidays into one - the Wow air stopover offer allows passengers to take a few days in Iceland before continuing their journey on to the city that never sleeps. Result.

There are some hidden costs, of course - the budget airline doesn’t offer complimentary food, drink, or entertainment, and baggage fees apply on all routes, with a carry-on bag setting you back £29.99, and a checked bag £44.99.

Then again, who needs a checked bag for a 3 day stint of pretending to be Serena and Blair in Gossip Girl, right? Actually, that was a bad example - those two had a LOT of clothes.

The discounted fares can be booked online RIGHT NOW for flights from London Stansted in April and May 2018… and to be honest you’re probably wasting time reading this when you could be booking instead.
