You Can Now Stay in a Cottage Made From Chocolate
You’ve made your bed. Now eat it.
Ever heard that saying, you’ve made your bed, now lie in it? Well, how about eating it instead? Technically that’s now possible, because Booking.com have created a cottage out of actual chocolate, and you can stay in it.
Located in Sevres, France, this is the accommodation of Willy Wonka’s dreams, crafted from 1.5 TONS of chocolate. Ludicrous? Maybe. Amazing? Most definitely.
Able to sleep up to 4 chocoholics guests, the cottage was designed and manufactured by Jean-Luc Decluzeau, an artisan chocolatier who is quite clearly living in 3018. And possibly watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory / read Hansel and Gretel one too many times growing up.
Featuring chocolate walls, roof, fireplace, dresser, clock, cups, books and a chandelier, the creation also includes a cute little garden with a duck pond and flower bed - both also fashioned out of - you guessed it - chocolate.
‘Honey, what time is it?’
‘I have no idea sweetie, I ate the clock’.
Guests who book a stay at the choc-house will also be offered a workshop in crafting mini chocolate chalets, which seems like a useful skill.
“I never thought I'd have the opportunity to build a life-size Chocolate Cottage for travelers to sleep in!” said Jean-Luc.
“I’m excited to collaborate with Booking.com and to share my passion for chocolate. I hope guests will relish the chance to experience such a sweet and unique place to stay.”
Well. Just make sure you turn up hungry, friend.
