I Feared Tulisa Would Commit Suicide - Agent
Jonathan Shalit tells media audience he sent security personnel to watch client...
Tulisa's agent has revealed that he feared the singer and TV personality could take her own life when she was embroiled in a tabloid drug scandal.
Jonathan Shalit told an audience at the Edinburgh Festival that he had hired security guards to watch over the former The X Factor judge at her home.
"She got to the point where I was worried she would commit suicide," Shalit told the crowd at the Media Crisis event.
"I made sure that someone was at her house for two consecutive nights to make sure she did nothing stupid, because she genuinely thought her life was over."
And he stressed that the situation had been made worse by the barrage of criticism she had received via the internet.
"Young people live their lives through social media," he said.
"They take it very personally what social media says. They really believe it."
Tulisa is accused of being involved in the supply of class A drugs - and will appear in court later this year.
She was spotted enjoying herself at the V Festival last weekend - where she apparently broke up a fight.
