Tulisa Loses Assault Conviction Appeal

Pop star fails in attempt to clear her name...

Tulisa Contostavlos has failed in a bid to clear her name of a conviction for assaulting showbiz blogger Vas J Morgan.

The former N-Dubz star and X Factor judge, 26, had asked Snaresbrook Crown Court to dismiss the conviction for the altercation - which took place at the V Festival in 2013.

However the court yesterday found against her, with judge David Radford saying: "We find she was not calm, this was a lack of self-control - the reasons, we understand - and for a brief moment, we find that she did strike Mr Morgan, before very speedily the incident was brought to an end."

He also asserted that a security guard who had given evidence was "undoubtedly independent" and that Tulisa had admitted becoming verbally aggressive.

We told you yesterday how Tulisa had claimed that Morgan had insulted her mentally ill mother.

Morgan claims that T has had a grudge against him since he published a link to her infamous sex tape, while she had told the court that he had a "strange obsession" with her.

Although the conviction was upheld, the sentence was altered so that she will not have to pay £100 compensation to Morgan - and a fine of £200 becomes a conditional discharge.

She will also be liable for an extra £1,500 in appeal costs.
