Lately there’s been more drama surroundingThe Simpsons off-screen thanon, first with the legendary Harry Shearer quitting the show and then the revelation that Marge and Homer Simpson would break up after 26 seasons together.

Well, it seems that latest information has gotten a little lost in translation, because now Bart Simpson has waded into the uproar and plainly stated that his parents AREN’T splitting up – in the best way possible.

Using the classic chalkboard scene from The Simpsons’ credits, Bart clearly spells out that Homer and Marge are staying together, and the tweet below urges people to retweet and ‘stop the rumours’.

The confusion first started when executive producer Al Jean revealed that Homer and Marge are to legally separate in the next season, with him falling in love with a pharmacist voiced by Lena Dunham.

Sounds pretty straight-forward to us, but whatever.

Now, Al has clarified his statement to The Wrap, telling them: “I didn't say Homer and Marge are breaking up. I said they are bigger than Jesus." Right.

Well, we’re glad that’s all cleared up.
