Has This Amy Schumer Sketch Just Said What The World Is Thinking About Bill Cosby?
"At this point Bill Cosby probably can't into any legal trouble, but that's not what this is about."
Over the course of her bloody incredible Comedy Central series ‘Inside Amy Schumer’, Amy has hit some pretty polarising topics head on, from the unfair treatment of women in the military to TV’s ridiculous notions for older actresses.
But now, Amy’s addressed the craziness surrounding Bill Cosby, who has faced many allegations of sexual assault on over 40 women over the course of more than four decades – and she went for the jugular in the best way possible.
In the sketch, titled ‘Court of Public Opinion: The Trial of Bill Cosby’, Amy takes aim at the people who are focusing less on the actual (and very serious) accusations and more on the nostalgia of Cosby’s former loveable glory as Dr. Huxtable.
Dishing out pudding pops and patterned jumpers to the jury, Amy asks them if they want to wince when watching a Cosby Show re-run in the future, declaring “None of us deserve that”.
It’s all pretty incredible, but watch out for the ending when Amy’s handed a cocktail ‘from Bill’ as a thanks for her help.
Can she be our best friend now? We kind of need her to be our best friend.
