You could win money towards making a short on the global environment with tvebiomovies…

tvebiomovies 2011 film competition, with the aim of giving budding filmmakers and animators the chance to have their say on the most pressing environmental issues facing our planet today.
The tve (television for the environment) collective are inviting you to submit your proposals for short films on the global environment, and a judging panel will select 10 of the ideas to go into production, with finalists each receiving US$300 to make their one-minute film.
The 10 tvebiomovies 2011 films will be screened to key movers and shakers attending the Climate Change debate at COP17, the international climate change conference being held in Durban, South Africa, in December 2011.
“We were thrilled with the creativity of last year’s entries,” says Cheryl Campbell, tve executive director, “and the 2010 finalist films continue to attract viewers today. This year’s competition promises to be even bigger and better.
“As well as reaching a global on line audience, last year’s shortlisted films were screened at Nagoya at COP10. The 2011 films will be showcased at Durban, as well as going on line for viewers to decide on the ultimate winners.”
Entries for tvebiomovies2011 will fall into five categories – water, energy, forests, oceans, and people living in harmony with their environment. The deadline for applications is 21 October 2011.
