Studio Expects Eclipse To Beat New Moon
In its takings at the box office…

The studio behind the Twilight franchise expect Eclipse to make more money at cinemas than the last film New Moon.
The third film was released last week and made slightly less than expected over its first six days of release.
Eclipse took $175.3 million over the 4th of July weekend in the US while New Moon made $178.9m over the same time period last Autumn.

However Summit Entertainment’s distribution man Richie Fay told MTV News he thinks the latest movie in the saga can still overtake its predecessor.
He said: “I think we have a real good shot at it after this first week. We're not disappointed in this gross at all. It's where we expected to be, and it hopefully gets us north of New Moon.”
Fay added: “If we lost the audience to some degree over the weekend to barbecues and fireworks, they will probably come back.”
The studio will need all the money they can get, last week reports said that the three main stars- Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart - will each get at least $25 million for the next two Breaking Dawn movies!
Eclipse is released tomorrow (July9) at UK cinemas.
