Twilight Remake Plan Denied By Movie Studio
Film studio executive said it is not planning to 'reboot' first movie...
Reports that a 'reboot' of the first Twilightmovie is in the pipeline have been denied by an executive at Lionsgate, the studio which made the movie series.
Rumours were circulating yesterday that the production studio was working on a fifth anniversary remake of the original film, which was made in 2008.
But Lionsgate exec Rob Friedman was quick to squash the claims, telling Deadline: "We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephenie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one, unless that should change."
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is getting a movie release this year, completing the film versions of author Meyer's vampire book series.
Lionsgate may be too busy to remake the Twilight movies anyway, since it is also behind the big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games - and is now working on the sequel Catching Fire.
The last Twilight movie did well in the recent Teen Choice Awards nominations.
