A True Blood actor has said he believes the TV show can exist alongside fellow vampire franchise Twilight.

Stephen Moyer stars in the HBO programme alongside Anna Paquin

He told E! Online that they don’t need to compete saying: “I think they serve a certain audience and we serve a certain demographic so we can all exist happily together.”

Both Twilight and True Blood are about vampires and are adapted from popular novels.

However the TV show is even darker than the films and shows more extreme scenes.

In other Twilight news young actor Xavier Samuel has spoken about starring in the third film Eclipse.

He told the Dark Horizons website that he plays a newborn vampire in the movie- which is currently shooting in Cananda.

And Xavier also spoke about new British director David Slade revealing: “He’s such an intelligent, very down-to-earth director.

“And from what I can gather, the way that he’s approaching shooting the film is quite different to the previous two.”
