U2 To Premiere New Charity Single During Super Bowl
Their new track 'Invisible' will get its first play during US sporting event...
U2will premiere brand new single Bono's (RED) campaign, which helps promote HIV/AIDS prevention worldwide.
Bono said: "Bank of America coming on as a (RED) partner to help the Global Fund's efforts to eliminate AIDS is great new.
"It's the kind of game-changing influence that will not just deliver millions of dollars but raise consciousness and keep public pressure on putting an end to this devastating pandemic which has already taken the lives of 35 million people."
He added: "And just in... the bank's commitment of $10 million has resulted in the Gates Foundation, SAP and Africa's Motsepe Family matching for a total of $22 million (£13.2m). Incredible!"
Following its Super Bowl debut, Invisible will be available for free on iTunes for the first 24 hours, with Bank of America donating $1 for every download up to $2 million.
The money earned will benefit the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Invisible will also act as the first single to be taken from the Irish rocker's forthcoming studio LP.
Bruno Mars and theRed Hot Chili Peppers will perform during the Super Bowl half-time show, live from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
