Violence Breaks Out at U2 Glastonbury Performance

Demonstrators clash with security guards during Bono and Co's live show…

U2's headline performance at this year's Glastonbury festival was marred by violence between protesters and security.

The Art Uncut group were protesting at the band's 2006 tax affairs, in which U2 moved their business affairs from Ireland to Holland. It's believed by some that the move was made for tax break reasons.
During Friday's Glasto headline slot, the protest group had planned to float signs in front of BBC cameras filming the performance. The signs apparently depicted a bag of money moving from an Ireland flag to a Dutch one with the message “U pay tax 2?”
Reports claim that as the protestors inflated the sign they were wrestled to the ground by security teams, who then deflated it and took it away.
One campaigner accused one of the guards of threatening to hit them. No protestors were arrested.
U2 performed an extensive thirty year back catalogue which ended with debut single Out of Control.
