Universal Studios Are Opening A Whole New Theme Park & It’s The Place Of Dreams
There's going to be a *200-foot* volcano!
Do you like having fun? You don’t? Better get off of this article then.
Just kidding, of course you do. If, unlike us, you’re smart and organised, and already thinking about where to shoot off to with your mates next summer, you should consider this.
Universal Studios is opening up a brand new water theme park - Volcano Bay - featuring a 200-foot volcano that you can travel through on an aqua coaster and more.
Opening up in early summer 2017, Universal Orlando Resort will be opening Universal’s Volcano Bay, a totes modern and unique attraction that will also incorporate wearable technology to help ‘redefine the way guests experience water parks’.
Tell us more about the MASSIVE VOLCANO
Okay, okaaaay. You’ll be able to board specially designed canoes and propel downwards – and upwards – through the volcano’s interior peaks and valleys. They’ll twist, turn and plummet along dark passageways, be launched through sparkling waterfalls and so much more.
Did you say upwards? Because that doesn’t make sense.
Oh, but it does, dear reader. It does.
The attraction will use linear induction motor technology, which launches the canoe uphill before it immediately sends riders into a downhill plunge. It’s going to be really fun, basically.
What was that thing about wearable tech you mentioned?
Thanks to the ‘TapuTapu wearable tech’ given to each guest as part of their admission, this water theme park is going to be very different.
First of all, you’ll be able to virtually wait in line – WAIT, it’s not a virtual reality queue simulator, it’s actually pretty cool – that will allow you to wait for rides virtually while you’re elsewhere. When it’s time to board, you’ll be notified, so you spend more time having actual real-life fun.
The tech will also allow you to trigger special effects in the park, such as shooting water cannons or illuminating images in hidden caves.
A Universal Orlando 3-Park Explorer ticket costs from £229 per adult and £220 per child, including 14 days unlimited access to Universal Studios, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and the all new Volcano Bay Water Theme Park. To book visit www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk
