Paul McCartney's 'Freedom' - written in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, and it shows. He was in an airport in New York when it happened, so the whole place probably erupted in panic. Poor Paul was so nervous that he didn't even notice he'd written the same four lines five times in a row. In fact, he was so terrified that he'd completely forgotten how to write a song at all, even though that had already happened approximately three decades earlier. Coupled with the awful melody, it all adds up to an atrocity on a similar level to 9/11. He sure told those evil tearists, alright. Basically, that we deserve everything we get.
This is my right
A right given by God
To live a free life
To live in freedom
Talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight for the right
To live in freedom
And do you want
To try to take it away
You will have to answer
Cause this is my right
Talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight for your right
To live in freedom
Yeah oh
Talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight for your right
To live in freedom
Everybody talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
We will fight for the right
To live in freedom (repeat three more fucking times)
