Usher 'Pulls Out Of Award Show' After Stepson's Accident
The singer is said to be 'praying' for 11-year old Kyle Glover...
Kyle Glover - who is Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster's son - was struck on the head by a jet ski as he and a 15-year old girl travelled in an inner tube being pulled by a boat in Georgia on Saturday (7th July).
The 11-year old was later air-lifted to a hospital in Atlanta, with US celebrity website TMZ claiming that Glover has since been declared brain dead after showing no sign of brain activity following the smash.
Yesterday, reports claimed that a family friend of the OMG singer, Jeffrey S. Hubbard - who was apparently driving the jet ski - is being investigated by local officials.
The New York Post has now revealed that Usher will not be attending the Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards later as a direct result of the incident.
The publication stated: "Usher was scheduled to appear, sources say, but cancelled following his 11-year-old stepson Kyle's hospitalisation from a jet-ski accident."
HollywoodLife.com has since reported that despite their custody battle, Usher and his ex-wife Tameka have united to "pray" for Glover, putting aside their differences out of respect for the child.
A source told the website: "The situation is terrible, the praying is plentiful and Usher is there for Kyle and is being an adult in the situation dealing with Tameka. He is separating things for the benefit and respect of Kyle.
''Usher is in contact and is nearby. He really is playing things close to his chest because there [are] still so many other emotions going on.''
They added: ''Usher is completely devastated and shaken with what has occurred. [He] is emotionally drained from the accident. He feels incredibly awful, distraught ... it's been a complete rollercoaster of emotions.''
