As a result of disappointing sales of his latest album, Here I Am Usher announced that his mother, Jonetta Patton will once again take charge of his career. In a joint statement, mother and son said "Usher has dissolved his management arrangement with Benny Medina and has re-engaged Jonnetta Patton as his manager." Music mogul Barry Medina who has also worked with J-Lo and Mariah Carey, told People.com, "With an artist like Usher, the bar is set really high. Whether it was management, marketing or the music." He added - "We achieved a number one single and a number one albumI had a great time and we parted ways amicably." Patton previously managed all of her sons affairs up until May 2007, when the R&B singer got engaged to stylist and mother of his son, Tameka Foster.
