#MTVFestivalSeason: Could V Festival’s Love For Calvin Harris Get Any Deeper?

Answer: no.

V Festival 2015’s second day in Chelmsford proved another one to remember, with a girl power packed line-up, including Ellie Goulding, Jessie Ware and Paloma Faith.

Sadly ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ video star Gigi Hadid wasn’t in attendance, but headliner Calvin Harris still managed to hold his own with the ladies, as you’ll see from our day two highlights…

Ellie Goulding’s Insane Energy

Seriously, how does she do it?! Not only does the super fit Ellie Goulding sing, look amazing and have great banter with the crowd, but she also runs around that stage and plays guitar like an absolute maniac. In a good way. Her hit-packed set, including ‘Starry Eyed’, ‘Burn’ and ‘Love Me Like You Do’ had all of Hylands Park singing along. Bonus points for being super cute with boyfriend Dougie Poynter backstage. #RelationshipGoals

Jessie Ware’s Shower Of ‘Champagne Kisses’

The ever-soulful Jessie Ware had those taking shelter in the Sure Arena eating from the palm of her hand. ‘Champagne Kisses’ was an obvious crowd pleaser, while ‘Say You Love Me’ provided the perfect swaying soundtrack, and ‘Wildest Moments’ was everything. Just everything.

Kelly Jones. Nuff Said.

The Stereophonics frontman absolutely shut down our MTV Stage, kicking off with ‘Vegas Two Times’ and ending on ‘Dakota’, with ‘Handbags And Gladrags’ and ‘Have A Nice Day’ sandwiched in the middle. The most rock ‘n’ roll act of the weekend for sure!

Calvin Harris’ Pyrotechnics (And That Set!)

Super producer Calvin Harris was spoilt for choice when it came to his V Festival set, with a back catalogue of hits including Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ and Ellie Goulding’s ‘I Need Your Love’ both making welcome appearances. Latest track ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ provoked an insane crowd reaction, with fierce fireworks and laser effects only adding to the vibe. Number one single ‘Blame’, Calvin’s collab with John Newman, finished V Festival 2015 with a bang… or so we thought…

Paloma Faith’s Lengthy Set

THANK YOU, Paloma Faith, for still playing as we ambled away from the main stage with full intentions to get home for an early night – nope. In to the Sure Arena we went, for a rousing rendition of ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’, from the fabulous Miss Faith.

Tune in to MTV Music this September to watch all the highlights from V Festival 2015.
