V Fest: Saturday

Our MTV.co.uk man on the scene reviews the best acts from Saturday's line-up...

A magnificent Radiohead set of old favourites, including a rare preformance of their breakthrough single 'Creep' topped off a great first day at the V festival on Saturday.

Now in its 10th year, when Kele from Bloc Party enthused of the fest, "this is the best V lineup ever, right?" it was hard to disagree.

You had pop acts Girls Aloud and Matt Willis alongside indie favourites We Are Scientists, and Brit favourites Bloc Party, Keane and the Magic Numbers.

American music weirdo Beck also served up a storm and belted out big hitters Loser, and Devils Haircut early on.

He was accompanied by his usual band and a collection of mini-band puppets.

Radiohead took to the main stage just as the sun was setting across Hylands Park, launching into 'OK Computer's 'Airbag'.

Classics such as 'The Bends', 'Paranoid Android', 'No Surprises' and 'Lucky' brought on a mass-audience sing along.

But the best was saved till last. Returning to the stage for a second encore, the band produced a spotless rendition of 'Creep' with Thom removing his ear monitors to hear the crowd sing the final lyrics: "But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo..." back at him with gusto.

Thanks for a great show Radiohead, now how about getting back to the studio and finishing that seventh album?
