Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison Says She 'Lost' Herself Following The Death Of Her Best Friend This Summer

The former Geordie Shore lass has opened up to Closer magazine.

Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has opened up about taking a step back following the death of her best friend, Paul Burns.

Paul died suddenly at the age of 37 in July shortly after the pair had celebrated his birthday together, and at the time Vicky wrote: "You are my best friend, my oldest friend and one of the most amazing people in the world. My heart is broken."

Opening up to Closer magazine about how tough the summer has been, Vicky said: "I've had a really tough summer... I lost myself a bit and I just needed to take a step back."

"I had a lot of down time where I sat in my house and drank wine and ate chicken nuggets with friends. I needed that, but I soon realised I had to get my life back on track and be positive," she added.

The lass also spoke about body image, explaining: "We see so many unrealistic images and it's refreshing to embrace our natural beauty. I really try to do that on my social media to show young girls that beauty can mean imperfections too."

And for now she is just focusing on being healthy (mind, body and soul): "I'm a firm believer in a healthy body meaning a healthy mind. I've been getting back to the gym and trying to eat healthily. John and I have hired a wedding planner and we're hoping to get wed next summer. I'm so excited for this next chapter. I'm also focused on my bridal body."
