Ferne McCann and Vicky Pattison have been BFFssince their time in the I'm A Celeb jungle back in 2015, which is why fans were left confused when the TOWIE star didn't show up to her pal's engagement bash.

It turns out there's a good reason why Ferne was sat at home with her feet up and it's all to do with the fact that her due date is looming and she's busy making preparations for the birth of her first child.

According to Metro, a source close to the situation revealed that the due date was "too close" for Ferne to risk going to the party in Newcastle.

The bash took place in the impressive Baltic Art Gallery, which boasts incredible views over the Tyne river. The insider revealed that it was actually a pretty low-key and non star-studdedaffair.

"Some of Vicky’s celebrity friends couldn’t make the date work because of work commitments which was totally understandable," the source shared.

For anyone unaware of Vicky and John Noble's love story, the couple met eight years ago, and dated for a solid six months before calling time on their romance.

Flash forward to 2016 and the pair managed to rekindletheir relationship after bumpinginto each other on a random train.The couple are set to be married this Summer.

We already know that Vicky isn't going to be a godparent to Ferne's baby, but it's pretty cute that the child will be here in time to attend the wedding of the year.
