Vin Diesel has confirmed that a sequel to last year's sci-fi thriller Riddick is in the pipeline.

The Fast & Furious star made the reveal in a video posted on his Facebook page, in which he dances to Katy Perry and Beyoncé for seven minutes.

In between showing off his moves, he stops to tell his fans: "Universal just called me and told me Riddick is number one on the DVD charts.

"There's no way Riddick would have been made without you guys. You know that. and you guys have been a part of our page since 2012 and remember how arduous a road it was to get the movie made, and to make it rated R, and to do it with such a low budget.

"It's a win for all of us and I really, really thank you so much".

He then revealed: "Universal also says they want to develop the next one."

And that's not the only sequel he might have to fit into an increasingly busy filming schedule, with a possible follow-up to xXx on the cards too.

He wrote on Facebook: "As you know, the new 'XXX' script finally comes in next month.

And referring to his now-famous dance video, he quipped: "And just this morning people are suggesting Katy Perry as the new X girl. /smile."
